The Bihar School Examination Board (abbreviated BSEB) is a statutory body under section 3 of Bihar School Examination Act - 1952 which is functioning under Government of Bihar devised to conduct examinations at secondary and senior secondary standard in both government and private schools belonging to state of Bihar on the basis of syllabus as prescribed by the Government of Bihar.
The board conducts secondary and senior secondary school examinations twice a year. One is the annual board examinations in February–March and the other is a supplementary examination held in August–September of every year.
The Bihar School Examination board which is abbreviated as (BSEB) was established under the Bihar School Examination Board Act in 1952. As per the Act the Board was established for holding and conducting the examinations of both secondary and senior secondary examinations in both government as well as private schools of the state according to the syllabus prescribed by the state government. The headquarters of Bihar Board is located in the capital city of Patna.
Every year the Bihar School Examination Board conducts annual secondary school exams in the month of February/March and supplementary exams in the month of August/September on the basis of course or syllabus as prescribed by the state Government. Apart from conducting the school examinations the board also conducts some departmental examinations as well such as Diploma in Physical Education, Certificate in Physical Education, Teacher Training Examinations according to state government.
